MAIALINUX

Version 0.1.0 Beta

A Linux distribution born from a Debian remaster, built my way.

What is Maialinux?

Maialinux is my own Linux distribution, which started out as a Debian-based remaster. It came out of wanting a system tuned exactly the way I need it day to day: light, to the point, and with the tools I reach for most already set up.

Important Notice

Maialinux is not finished yet, and it is an endless work in progress. I am building tools to make the system easier to use.

It already has a package manager called maiapkg. To see what the manager can do, just type sudo maiapkg --help.

For now, DPKG and APT are staying in the distro, because maintaining a repository at Debian's level is very expensive. And for me it was easier and cheaper to set up a repository just for my own programs, entirely separate, inside Maialinux.

I hope anyone using Maialinux understands that the main reason behind my choice of the JWM window manager was exactly its customization power, with the lightness and speed that C/C++ guarantees — and with it you will not even need an SSD.

Signing key

Maialinux images are signed with GPG. Before installing, check that the ISO signature was made by this key — that is what proves the file came from here and arrived intact.
