Terms of Use

Last updated: August 22, 2026.

Courtesy translation. This site is operated from Brazil and these terms are governed by Brazilian law. In case of any discrepancy between this text and the original, the Portuguese version prevails.

These terms apply to anyone accessing maiastudios.com.br. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, simply do not use it — there is no account to create and nothing to cancel.

1. What this site is

MAIA STUDIOS is the personal site of Luiz Eduardo: a project portfolio, a blog about technology and software creation, and the home page of the Maialinux project. It is free, informational content. The site sells nothing, hosts no user accounts and provides no contracted service.

2. Technical content is information, not consulting

The articles carry commands, configurations and code that work in the environments where they were tested. Environments differ: system version, permissions and production data change the outcome.

Test in a separate environment before applying anything from here to a machine that matters, and keep backups. System administration commands can delete data irreversibly. What you run is your responsibility, and nothing published here replaces a professional assessment of your specific case.

3. Maialinux

Maialinux is distributed free of charge, as is, with no warranty of any kind — neither of operation nor of fitness for a particular purpose. It is a personal project, not a supported product. The third-party programs it bundles remain under their own free licences.

4. Permitted use

You may read, study, print for your own use and share links. What can be reused, and how, is set out on the Copyright page.

5. Prohibited conduct

  • Attempting to break into, overload or disrupt the site.
  • Harvesting content automatically at a volume that degrades the service, or bypassing technical limits.
  • Using the contact form or the newsletter for spam, unsolicited advertising, threats, harassment or any unlawful content.
  • Signing up an email address that is not yours to the newsletter.
  • Impersonating another person, or implying a relationship, partnership or sponsorship that does not exist.

6. Contact form and newsletter

What you send through the form reaches the site owner by email. Newsletter sign-up requires email confirmation and can be cancelled at any time through the link in every message. How that data is handled is described in the Privacy Policy.

There is no guaranteed response time to messages, and sending one creates no contractual, consulting or service relationship.

7. Links to other sites

The articles cite third-party documentation, repositories and tools. Those sites have their own owners, rules and policies, and there is no control over what they publish or what they do with your data. Linking to something is not an endorsement of it.

8. Availability and changes

The site is maintained with no commitment to continuous availability: it may go offline for maintenance, because of a technical failure, or by decision of the owner. Articles may be corrected, updated or removed, and addresses may change, without prior notice.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by Brazilian law, the site owner is not liable for losses or damages arising from the use — or the inability to use — the content published here, including data loss, system downtime or harm caused by running the example commands and code.

This limitation does not exclude liability for wilful misconduct or for rights that the law does not allow to be excluded, in particular those of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code where applicable.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms may change. When they do, the update date at the top of this page changes with them, and the version in force is always the one published here. Continuing to use the site after a change means accepting the new version.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of the Federative Republic of Brazil. The courts of the owner's place of domicile are elected to settle any dispute, save for the jurisdiction the law assigns elsewhere in favour of the consumer.

12. Contact
